Recessed Plate

Recessed Plates are very important in modern filtration systems, which are designed to replace traditional filter plate and frame systems. These plates are employed in chamber filter elements working on the principles of pressure filtration aimed at efficient separation of solids from liquids. Recessed Plates come in two main versions: Open Discharge and Close Discharge; both having chamber depths between 15mm-50mm able to handle a wide range of slurries. Because of their flexibility, these features make them ideal for several industrial applications where proper filtration is necessary with good cake formation.

Filtration Process

The recessed plates work on the principle of pressure filtration as the chambers slowly fill up with slurry and the filter cake builds up layer by layer on the surface. The cake gets dewatered efficiently through increases in pressure inside this chamber while filtrate is captured separately. This ensures that a well-formed homogeneous filter cake is obtained which also guarantees better washing results. To increase efficiency and reduce filtration time for compressible products requiring longer filtration time, it is recommended to incorporate membrane filter elements into a mixed pack.
